Език: English

Learn how to make your first schematic and PCB design, using KiCad, from start to finish, and ready for manufacturing. No electronics skills required, just install KiCad.

This workshop will cover the whole process of making a printed circuit board hardware, from selecting and buying components online, designing a schematic, making a PCB design, manufacturing the PCB, assembling it, and writing firmware on it. As a practical example project, we'll make a small digital clock, with a battery, a small OLED display, a speaker, temperature and humidity information, and some buttons.

We'll briefly explain some the basics of electricity during the course, without going into details. Any previous knowledge in electricity and electronics is not strictly required.

Manufacturing such a printed circuit board costs around €20 in small quantity, not including the components, so it is possible for participants to order and manufacture their own boards, if they wish to do so, after the workshop.

Participants are advised to install KiCad 9 in advance, along with the official KiCad symbol and footprint libraries, which may or may be installed along with KiCad by default.

Software developer, hardware developer, free software activist and organizer, KiCad contributor, from Sofia, living in Korea.
